How to Accept a Robot After Repair? Accuracy, Load, Continuous Operation, and Safety Testing

Robot repair acceptance should cover alarm clearance, low-speed motion, repeat positioning, rated load, continuous automatic cycles, and safety interlocks, with records saved before and after repair.

How to Accept a Robot After Repair? Accuracy, Load, Continuous Operation, and Safety Testing

After replacing a robot's control board, servo motor, cables, or mechanical components, the ability to power on and move manually only indicates basic functional recovery. Complete acceptance requires demonstrating stable operation at actual speeds, loads, and production cycle times.

  1. Basic Status Verification

Check alarm logs, system time, software version, parameters, zero points, tool coordinates, and workpiece coordinates. Confirm that connectors, grounding, cable securing, and protective cover installation are complete, with no tools left behind or temporary wiring.

  1. Motion and Accuracy Testing

First run each axis at low speed, then execute full-stroke and automatic programs. Use a fixed reference point to check repeat positioning and compare with pre-repair records. When motors, encoders, reducers, or the main body have been disassembled and reassembled, pay special attention to verifying zero points and trajectory deviations.

  1. Load and Continuous Operation

Operate with the actual tool and workpiece loads, observing each axis's current, temperature, vibration, abnormal noises, and brake status. The continuous cycle time should cover the equipment's warm-up process to avoid alarms reoccurring after short-term normal operation when cold.

  1. Safety and Production Verification

Test emergency stop, safety doors, enabling devices, soft limits, zone protection, and peripheral interlocks. Finally, use actual products to verify pick-and-place, welding, handling, or palletizing cycle times, and record the acceptance personnel and results.

Robot repair acceptance should use clear test items and pass criteria, transforming "it can move" into traceable verification of stability, accuracy, and safety.
